FILM AND TV REVIEWS
April 2nd 2008 12:16
This may be a review with a minor differece to the rest in that I write my first review based on my all time favourite flicks.
My all time favourite films would be as follows:
Escape From New York
“Snnnnaaakkkeee Pliskken”.
Who could forget that line belted out by The Duke when he had Snake Pliskken captured at his stomping ground?
I'm sure people who have seen this flick would know that Snake is an Anti Hero. He obviously has a problem with authority figure's I'm guessing. Well, based on Snake's treatment of Hauk. Who forces him to save the President.
The fact that Snake was once the goodie, but turned baddie as well as the fact that he doesn't give a shit about the world is what I like about the film.
It's interesting to know that Kurt Russell actually tried walking like Clint Eastwood in Escape From New York! Because Clint starred with Lee Van Cleef (whom was Hauk in EFNY) in several Westerns back in the 1960's!
The Warriors
“Warriors, come out to playyyyyyy”.
Luther. What a legend. You know he used that comment in the film based on a bully that bullied him at school? The bully actually sang that comment to him, but obviously used his name instead of the warriors!
The fact that The Warriors were framed, but would go to great lengths to stand up for themselves is vintage stuff!
The film actually caused alot of chaos in America when it was released. Gangs were fighting and fighting and fighting.
Real gangs were even used in the film. Gangs were even payed to protect the film set so it wouldn't be attacked by real gangs!
The Warriors were thought to be a real gang when they walked into restaurants during filming breaks.
Amazing stuff!
Highway To Hell
I love Sargeant Bedlam! Great Stuff!!!
As for TV, These are my favourites:
Quantum Leap
I love the fact that Sam Beckett time travels to help people, yet that he cannot help him self by leaping home!
Twilight Zone And The Outer Limits
The fact that anything goes, and with endings that are not always a happy one does it for me!
For all bloggers out there.......
